Ways to Support Parys WADER

People often want to help Parys WADER but are unsure where to begin. You don't need specialist knowledge, a lot of money, or time at the facility to make a useful contribution.

Support can take many forms. You may donate something we need, use a skill you already have, organise an approved fundraising activity, introduce us to a business, or help our information reach more people.

The best place to start is by asking what would be most useful now.

Start With Our Current Needs

The needs of a wild-bird rehabilitation facility change throughout the year. An item that is urgently needed during one period may already have been supplied by the time someone is ready to help.

Contact us for our current wish list before buying or collecting goods. You can choose an item that suits your budget and donate it directly. Friends, colleagues, or members of a community group could also work together to obtain something larger from the list.

Some people prefer to support a specific need because they can see exactly what their contribution will provide. If you would like to raise the money to purchase a particular item, please discuss your idea with us first.

Use a Skill You Already Have

Something you enjoy doing can become a practical way to support Parys WADER.

If you knit or crochet, you could make a blanket or another item and offer it to us. We can decide whether it meets a need at the facility or could be sold through an approved fundraising activity. Someone who enjoys baking may be able to contribute cakes or other goods to a fundraising table arranged with us.

There are many other possibilities. The important part is to speak to us before you begin so that your time and materials go towards something we can use.

Coordinate Fundraising With Us

Please contact us before raising money, collecting goods, placing a collection tin, approaching a business, advertising an activity, or using the Parys WADER name or logo. We need to confirm what has been agreed and how the money or donated items will be handled.

Some fundraising methods are regulated, particularly when people pay for a chance to win a prize. Please do not arrange an informal raffle, lottery, lucky draw, or similar activity in our name.

Straightforward fundraising options are often easier. You can donate an item directly, provide something for an approved direct sale, or raise funds towards a specific item from our wish list after discussing the arrangement with us.

Businesses Can Become Partners

A business can support Parys WADER through an arrangement that suits what it already sells or does.

Our partnership with Crater Coffees is a good example. Crater Coffees donates a percentage of its ground-coffee sales to Parys WADER. Customers buy coffee as they normally would, and part of the sale supports our work.

Another business may have a completely different idea. We are happy to discuss proposals and consider how a partnership could work in practice.

Help Our Information Travel Further

One of the easiest and most important ways to support Parys WADER is to share our Facebook posts and WhatsApp channel updates.

We can publish information, but we cannot personally reach every family, school, church, club, neighbourhood, or community group. Each person who shares a relevant post helps us reach beyond our own audience.

Please invite your friends and family to follow the Parys WADER WhatsApp channel and Facebook Page. Share our posts with the groups you belong to, especially when we publish educational information, explain how to help a wild bird, ask for an item, or announce an approved fundraising activity.

Sharing costs nothing and takes only a moment. Yet it may reach someone who has an item from our wish list, a business interested in partnering with us, or a person who later needs reliable information after finding a bird in trouble.

Choose What Works for You

Support should fit your circumstances. You may be able to donate one small item, use a creative skill, introduce us to a local business, or spend a few minutes each week sharing our updates. These contributions are different, but all of them can help.
